Characteristics of Computer Hackers and Scammers

Characteristics of Computer Hackers and Scammers

This is a very important blog that has a whole lot to do with the livelihood of people in our society. The characteristics of computer hackers and scammers are very serious because it has a lot to do with online communication. Whenever a person is online, they should always pay attention to the lies that each computer hacker and scammers tell to their victims. For instance, if a hacker or scammer indicated that they have done something for the person, it is not true. Another thing, is that they have a tendency to use a lot of misspelled words all of the time whenever they are typing.

A scammer always tries to beg and plead with the person they are online with to try to persuade them to do something all of the time. For example, if someone is sending money to a hacker or scammer; the hacker or scammer would tell them to send additional money. In my case, I ended up sending over $16,000 dollars in Western Union Funds to individuals who were on Black planet, Yahoo, and Face book. These websites are unsecure and you will have to use them at your own risk. When it comes to Mocospace, computer hackers and scammers are using women’s profiles on a daily basis without the person’s consent or knowledge. Therefore, it makes the female feel very uneasy and scared to be on the website.

There are other additional characteristics that everyone needs to be aware of is that; some of the hackers are located overseas. I want to inform everyone that computer hacking occurs worldwide. The behavior is also learned from each scammer and hacker. Most of the locations that the hackers are located at are in larger cities. This makes them very hard to find. If a person gets scammed by a scammer or hacker, always report it to law enforcement. If Western Union is involved, a fraud report must be filed immediately. This is by calling the toll free number and they will direct you to the fraud department. Always keep all of your receipts. By keeping your receipts, you will be able to file a report at an instance. All computer hackers and scammers use statements and misspelled words to confuse those they are online with.

If anyone suspects that a hacker is online with them, it is best to log off the website and file a cybercrimes report. A person must report the information to the Information Technology Department of that website as well as the cyber security department. Computer Hackers and Scammers always want your credit card information and social security number as well as your phone number. The reason why they want your phone number is because they want to keep in touch you on a regular basis. Scammers on the other hand, just simply take advantage of you without the use of a computer. Scammers as well as Hackers always have a lot of background noise whenever anyone is talking with them. Some of the Western Union Transactions that I have made with the people who scammed me were outside.

Whenever, I received a phone call from the Scammers and Hackers, they usually called me each time I got paid from my jobs. From March 13, 2008 until February 3, 2010; I have sent a total of $16,977 dollars to people that I did not know. Most of my money went to one country and that country is Ghana in Africa. Most of the Scammers and Computer Hackers tend to use the same women’s profiles and email addresses to communicate with those who they are online with. The phone numbers themselves are easily cloned and duplicated as well as illegally transferred to another person’s cell phone number without the victim even knowing it.

EXPOSITORY (ENGLISH BIBLE)

Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers

(19) So the heart of man (answereth) to man.—What is in our own hearts we find in others also. Whatever are the distinguishing features of our own characters we discover and elicit the same in others. The merciful, the generous, the devout, the pure, recognise the same qualities in others, and themselves feel and receive sympathy from such persons. So the evil, too, find themselves in harmony with those of like disposition.

Benson Commentary

Proverbs 27:19. As in water face answereth to face — As the image of a man’s face in the water answers to his natural face who looks into it; or, as in water one man’s face is like another’s, the difference of men’s faces being not there visible; so one man resembles another not only in the regard of the corruption of nature, which is alike in all men, but also with respect to the tempers and dispositions of their minds, wherein likewise they frequently agree. Dr. Grey thinks the verse should be rendered, “As the water showeth the face to the face, so doth the heart the man to the man.” In which sense Castalio seems to have understood it, paraphrasing it thus: “As a man may know what kind of a face he hath if he will look into the water, so he may know what kind of a man he is if he will examine his conscience.” Another interpretation, adopted by some, is, “A man may see himself, while he looks upon other men, as well as know other men, by considering himself, and that as certainly as he can see his own face in the water, or in any other mirror;” there being little or no difference between one man and another by nature, but the difference being made by the grace of God.

Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

27:15,16. The contentions of a neighbour may be like a sharp shower, troublesome for a time; the contentions of a wife are like constant rain. 17. We are cautioned to take heed whom we converse with. And directed to have in view, in conversation, to make one another wiser and better. 18. Though a calling be laborious and despised, yet those who keep to it, will find there is something to be got by it. God is a Master who has engaged to honour those who serve him faithfully. 19. One corrupt heart is like another; so are sanctified hearts: the former bear the same image of the earthly, the latter the same image of the heavenly. Let us carefully watch our own hearts, comparing them with the word of God. 20. Two things are here said to be never satisfied, death and sin. The appetites of the carnal mind for profit or pleasure are always desiring more. Those whose eyes are ever toward the Lord, are satisfied in him, and shall for ever be so. 21. Silver and gold are tried by putting them into the furnace and fining-pot; so is a man tried by praising him. 22. Some are so bad, that even severe methods do not answer the end; what remains but that they should be rejected? The new-creating power of God’s grace alone is able to make a change. 23-27. We ought to have some business to do in this world, and not to live in idleness, and not to meddle with what we do not understand. We must be diligent and take pains. Let us do what we can, still the world cannot be secured to us, therefore we must choose a more lasting portion; but by the blessing of God upon our honest labours, we may expect to enjoy as much of earthly blessings as is good for us.

Barnes’ Notes on the Bible

As we see our own face when we look on the mirror-like surface of the water, so in every heart of man we may see our own likeness. In spite of all diversities we come upon the common human nature in which we all alike share. Others see in the reference to the reflection in the water the thought that we judge of others by ourselves, find them faithful or the reverse, as we ourselves are.

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary

19. We may see our characters in the developed tempers of others.

Matthew Poole’s Commentary

The sense is either,

1. As the image of a man’s face in the water answers to his natural face who looks into it; or, as in water one man’s face is like another’s, the difference of men’s faces being not there visible: so one man resembles another, either in the temper of his mind or body, in which many men are alike one to another; or in the corruption of his nature, in which all are alike. Or,

2. As a man may see his own face if he look into the water, which is nature’s looking-glass, or into any other looking glass; so a man may discern his own heart, if he look into those glasses whereby it discovers itself; if he examine his thoughts and inclinations, together with the general course of his actions. Or,

3. As the face of a man standing by the waters is visible not only to himself, but to others, by the shadow or image of it in the waters; so the heart of a man is in some measure discernible, not only to himself, but to others also, who observe his disposition and carriage.

Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible

As in water face answereth to face,…. As water is as a looking glass, in which a man may behold his own face and another’s; or as the face in the water answers to the face of a man, and there is a great likeness between them. All things through water appear greater, as Seneca (m) observes, and so more clear and plain;

so the heart of man to man; one man’s heart may be seen and discerned in some measure by another, as by his countenance; for though, as the poet (n) says, “frontis nulla fides”, yet the countenance is often the index of the mind, though not an infallible one; wrath and anger in the breast may be seen in the face, as were in Cain’s; thus Jacob saw some resentment at him in the mind of Laban, and judged he had some design of mischief against him by the change of his countenance; also what is in the heart of man is discerned by what comes out of it, by his words, and also by his actions; yea, a man may know in a good measure what is in another man’s heart, by what he finds in his own: the word of God is a glass, or medium of vision, and like water, in which a man’s face is seen, through which a man sees his own heart; the law is a glass, in which an enlightened person sees not only the perfections of God, the nature of righteousness, but also his sin, and the sinfulness of it; this glass mother magnifies nor multiplies his sins, but sets them in a true light before him, by which he discerns heart sins, and sees and knows the plague of his heart; and the Gospel is a glass, wherein he beholds the glory of Christ, sees and can discern whether Christ is formed in him, and he has the grace of the Spirit of God wrought in his soul, as faith, hope, love, repentance, humility, self-denial, &c. moreover, as the face seen in the water is similar to a man’s face, so the hearts of men are alike, not merely in a natural sense, see Psalm 33:15; but in a moral and spiritual sense the hearts of unregenerate men are alike, and answer to each other; for they are all equally corrupted, one and depraved; the heart of every man is desperately wicked; the imaginations of the thoughts of the hearts or wicked men, one and all of them, are only evil, and that continually; their affections are inordinately the same, they love and hate the same persons and things; their minds and consciences are all defiled; their understandings are darkened; their wills are averse to that which is good, and bent on that which is evil: and so the hearts of good men are alike; they have all one heart and one way given them; their experiences agree as to the work of grace and conversion; they are all made sensible of sin, the evil of it, and danger by it; they are all brought off of their own righteousness, and are led to Christ to depend on him alone for righteousness, pardon, and eternal life; they are partakers of the same promises in the Gospel, and have the same enemies to grapple with, and the same temptations, trials, and exercises from sin, Satan, and the world; and they have the same things put into their hearts, the laws of God, the doctrines of Christ, and the several graces of the Spirit of Christ; so that there cannot be a greater likeness between a man’s face and that seen in the water, than there is between the heart of one saint and another; the hearts of Old and New Testament saints, and of all in all ages and places, answer to one another. The Targum paraphrases it to a sense quite the reverse,

“as waters and as faces which are not like one to another, so the hearts of the children of men are not like one to another;”

and to the same sense are the Septuagint, Syriac, and Arabic versions.

Geneva Study Bible

As in water face answereth to face, {h} so the heart of man to man.

(h) There is no difference between men by nature, only the grace of God makes the difference.

EXEGETICAL (ORIGINAL LANGUAGES)

Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges

19. in water] This rendering of A.V., which is retained in R.V. text, gives a good and pregnant meaning: As truly as the face seen in the water resembles the face of which it is the reflection, so truly does the heart of one man correspond to that of another in all the essential features of our common nature.

There is, however, another rendering, supported by many competent authorities and adopted in R.V. marg., viz.:

As water sheweth face to face,

So the heart sheweth man to man.

The meaning then will be that the heart, like the water, is the medium by which we behold the image of our fellow man, the mirror in which we see his character. He is to us what our heart makes him. We judge of others by ourselves. A sordid nature or ruffled temper, like turbid or unsettled water, will give a broken and distorted image: it cannot conceive the idea of true generosity or genuine worth. On the other hand a pure heart will give to its possessor a true perception not only of man but of God Himself (St Matthew 5:8).

Pulpit Commentary

Verse 19. – As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man; Vulgate, Quomodo in aquis resplendent vultus prospicientium, sic corda hominum manifesta sunt prudentibus. As in clear water the face of the gazer is reflected, so man finds in his fellow man the same feelings, sentiments, passions, which he has himself. He sees in others the likeness of himself; whatever he knows himself to be, he will see others presenting the same character. Self-knowledge, too, leads to insight into others’ minds; “for what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?” (1 Corinthians 2:11). There is a solidarity in human nature which enables us to judge of others by ourselves. The difficulties in the construction and wording of the sentence do not affect the interpretation. They are, however, best met by rendering, with Delitzsch, “As it is with water, face corresponds to face, so also the heart of man to man.” Septuagint, “As faces are not like faces, so neither are the thoughts of men;” which is like the saying of Persius, ‘Sat.,’ 5:52 –

“Mille hominum species, et rerum discolor usus;
Velle suum cuique est, nec voto vivitur uno.” Proverbs 27:19

Keil and Delitzsch Biblical Commentary on the Old Testament

19 As it is with water, face correspondeth to face,

So also the heart of man to man.

Thus the traditional text is to be translated; for on the supposition that כּמּים must be used for כּבמּים, yet it might not be translated: as in waters face corresponds to face (Jerome: quomodo in aquis resplendent vultus respicientium), because כּ (instar) is always only a prep. and never conj. subordinating to itself a whole sentence (vid., under Psalm 38:14). But whether כּמּים, “like water,” may be an abridgment of a sentence: “like as it is with water,” is a question, and the translation of the lxx (Syr., Targ., Arab.), ὥσπερ οὐχ ὅμοια πρόσωπα προσώποις, κ.τ.λ., appears, according to Bttcher’s ingenious conjecture, to have supposed כאשר במים, from which the lxx derived כּאין דּמים, sicut non pares. The thought is beautiful: as in the water-mirror each one beholds his own face (Luther: der Scheme equals the shadow), so out of the heart of another each sees his own heart, i.e., he finds in another the dispositions and feelings of his own heart (Fleischer) – the face finds in water its reflection, and the heart of a man finds in man its echo; men are ὁμοιοπαθεῖς, and it is a fortunate thing that their heart is capable of the same sympathetic feelings, so that one can pour into the heart of another that which fills and moves his own heart, and can there find agreement with it, and a re-echo. The expression with ל is extensive: one corresponds to another, one belongs to another, is adapted to the other, turns to the other, so that the thought may be rendered in manifold ways: the divinely-ordained mutual relationship is always the ground-thought. This is wholly obliterated by Hitzig’s conjecture כּמוּם, “what a mole on the face is to the face, that is man’s heart to man,” i.e., the heart is the dark spot in man, his partie honteuse. But the Scripture nowhere speaks of the human heart after this manner, at least the Book of Proverbs, in which לב frequently means directly the understanding. Far more intelligible and consistent is the conjecture of Mendel Stern, to which Abrahamsohn drew my attention: כּמּים הפּנים לפנים, like water (viz., flowing water), which directs its course always forward, thus (is turned) the heart of man to man. This conjecture removes the syntactic harshness of the first member without changing the letters, and illustrates by a beautiful and excellent figure the natural impulse moving man to man. It appears, however, to us, in view of the lxx, more probable that כּמּים is abbreviated from the original כאשׁר במים (cf. Proverbs 24:29).

◄ What Does Proverbs 27:19 Mean? ►
As in water face reflects face, So the heart of man reflects man.

Proverbs 27:19(NASB)

Verse of the Day
Just as gazing into the mirror-like qualities of a still water-pool reflect the detailed features of a man’s face, so the standards and qualities residing deep within a heart, reflect a man’s character and display the innermost calibre of his soul. Just as we are enabled to study the physical characteristics of our facial features through the mirror-image, reflected in a clear standing-pool of water, so an examination of the inner thoughts of the heart gives a reliable indication of our spiritual standing – or perhaps uncovers a hypocritical facade.

The literal translation of this verse reads, “like water face to face, so is the heart of man to a man.” Too often we are quick to identify the qualities, or criticise the defects we see reflected in the life of a fellow believer, but often we are not as swift to identify areas in our own hearts that need to be critically analysed and spiritually evaluated as unholy or detrimental to our spiritual growth, offered-up to the Lord, and purged.

God alone knows a man’s heart and can read the secret thoughts in the inner depths of his soul, but it is the outworking of those concealed attributes, which are demonstrated through words, actions, and attitudes, that manifests a man’s true identity to his fellow-man.

Reverence and respect towards our heavenly Father, a Christlike love towards others, and inner peace, is often identified through the godly works, pure thoughts, and sound speech, that flows through our daily life. It is the inner heart that identifies a life that is walking in spirit and truth. It is careless speech, a critical attitude, thoughtless behaviour, and an unrighteous lifestyle that warns us that we have fallen from grace and strayed from the path of peace. Corrupt hearts breed corruption, while a sanctified heart exhibits Christ-likeness.

Man’s countenance is frequently an index of his thoughts, and the fruit of his attitude of mind is often displayed in his words, his ways, his will, and his walk. As a man thinks so is he, and whatever becomes the central focus of that man’s mind, influences his attitude of heart and is displayed in the out-working of his life, “As water reflects the face, so the heart of man reflects that man’s character.”

Ambitions and emotions, temptations and trials, hope and fear, inner thoughts and expectations, together with spiritual strengths and weaknesses, can all be reflected in the face and mirrored in the expression of the eyes. It is often as we openly gaze into the reflection of our own face, through the mirror of God’s Word, that we can identify areas that need spiritual adjustment and God’s forgiveness.

How important to examine our own heart and scrutinise our inner thoughts, through the mirror-like qualities of a still water-pool and to reflect whatever is good, and pure, and wholesome, and holy.

The Word of God is the truthful mirror into which we should look carefully. The Bible is the still water-pool in which to gaze day by day – for the face of Christ is the reflection upon which our hearts should rest.

May we preach this truth to our own hearts and be doers of the Word as well as hearers of God’s truth. May we all… with unveiled faces,  gaze at the glory of the Lord… as beholding HIM in the mirror, so that we may be transformed into His glorious image, from glory to glory – through the power of the indwelling Spirit of the Lord  – as we die to self and live for Him.

My Prayer
Blessed Lord and Father, what wonderful truths are contained within Your Word. I pray that I may learn to keep the eyes of my heart fixed upon Christ, and to daily search the Scriptures more faithfully, so that I may learn more of You and increasingly reflect the Lord Jesus in all I say and do. I pray that my life may be a mirror-image of Him, that I may only say the things that He has taught me, and only do those things that honour Him, so that His grace, and love, and care, and beauty, may be seen in me and flow out to others. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

Job 15:12 Commentary and Transparency Statement

Not Found

Job 15:12 says: Why does your heart carry you away?  What do your eyes wink at,  This means that your stress is getting the best of you.  The reason why stress is getting the best of me is because I have allowed it to happen to me.  I know that I am only a human being.  I am a Work in Progress!  What do my eyes wink at?  I really do not know that I was winking at anyone.  Remember that only a deceptive person tend to wink a lot.  I will admit that I have allowed stress to get the best of me.  I have been under pressure as of late.  I have been dealing with Organized Criminals Worldwide during the past 14 years now.  These people are responsible for messing up my Cellphones and all of my personal email accounts.

Not Found

Next, I have given these computer hackers and scammers a total of $18,000 dollars in Western Union Funds.  These people who scammed me out of money did not know me personally.  Lord God, I Thank You for keeping me alive.  I thank you for Your Breath of Life every single day of the week.  I have allowed Your Word to penetrate my spirit.  I have been feeling sluggish and depressed because of my diabetes and Low Testosterone Levels.  I have been sleeping excessively and feeling lazy.  I am a person who has a lot of common sense.  I am a person who is very intelligent.  I am a person who has spiritual discernment.  I want to inform all of you that I am hearing voices from demonic spirits.  I thought that these voices were over with forever.  I will admit that I have been doing things that normal people do not do for themselves.

Further, I want you to know that I have been gaining weight during the past few weeks now.  I have been staying home lately because of the weather.  Lord Jesus, I love you very much.  I am very happy with my progress that I am making for myself.  I have been trying to find a job working anywhere.  It doesn’t matter what kind of job it is right now.  I have to pay a total of $27,000 dollars in student loans to a company called William and Fudge Collection Agency and Transworld Solutions Agency just to pay the University of North Carolina at Charlotte NC student loans.  Lord Jesus, please help me to resolve all of my financial problems.  I also have to pay medical bills as well.

Moreover, I really need to reestablish my personal relationship with God.  I will admit that I have to get myself together and be a real man.  Lord Jesus, please help me to be the person You want me to be.  Lord Jesus, I need motivation in my life right now.  I am out of shape and overweight.  I have been reading Your Word and it is enabling me to read the Bible every day of the week.  I am being transparent in saying that I need Your Help.  I have been eating the wrong foods and neglecting myself.  I’m being honest in saying that I need help with various things.

In Addition, I want to inform all of you that my neighbor’s are literally too close to my apartment.  I am getting the impression that my neighbor’s who live below me are engaging in some criminal activities as well as other people inside of my apartment building.  The only thing that I do each day of the week is go to the library and Church.  I will admit that I have missed a few weeks of Church and this is messing me up.  I have my AA Meetings at home rather than going out in the elements.  Lord Jesus, I really do not know what is going on inside of my apartment building but this activity is very suspicious.

Finally, I am trying my best to eliminate the indecisive behavior that people think that I have right now.  Whenever I read the Bible, it helps me to stay focused and think deeply about the things that are puzzling me.  Lord Jesus, I am doing good today.  I want to inform all of you that my teeth are falling out of my mouth.  I am having memory lapses and back problems.  This is very serious!  My life right now is still unmanageable.  I have to start all over again when it comes to the 12 Steps of Recovery.  God Bless All of You.  Thank You For Reading My Essay.

Forgive Each Person 490 Times: A Life Long Process

Is It True That We Have To Forgive Each Person 490 Times?

By: Anthony Joseph Hopkins

Praise The Lord Everyone!! Praise The Lord!! How are all of you doing today?  Fine, I hope.  I have a very important question to ask all of you.  Is it true that we have to forgive each person 490 times?  The answer to this question is yes.  We have to forgive everyone for what each person have done to you.

I used to have a problem with forgiveness a long time ago.  This is because I used to get abused and neglected as a child as well as an adult.  I want to let everyone know that it is not very easy apologizing and accepting apologies from other people.  I feel good right now because I have learned how to forgive others while attending church as a child.  At first, I used to get upset when others have hurt me.  I used to run away from God.  It is very serious when it comes to forgiveness.  This means that I have to forgive each person living on this earth 490 times.  I literally understand right now what it takes to accept other people.  I meditated on this topic before I decided to type it.

Next, I am very happy that I am the person that I am right now because I have learned a brand new behavior.  It is called forgiving other people.  The first thing that I had to do is ask God for forgiveness in all of my sins.  I have to ask God to accept me as I am as a human being.  God really loves me.  He literally loves all of us.

Further, I had to confess with my mouth to the Lord Jesus and believe it inside of my heart.  I really believe that God had raised Jesus Christ from the dead: You will be saved.  I am just happy that I have learned a new behavior, and it makes the Lord very happy that I am forgiving others, and accepting each other in love.

I have to realize that I really have to be very careful when it comes to dealing with my own emotions.  I have come to the realization that I am a brand new creation in Christ Jesus.  He will never leave you, nor forsake you.  I am very happy that I have Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior.  The very thing that I am doing is imitating the behavior of Jesus Christ.  I know that it is not going to be an easy journey: However, God is with me!  I also have to give other people credit for molding and shaping my overall behavior.  God works through people.  There have been people that were involved in my life; just to see me do something positive in my life.

Moreover, I want to inform all of you that I know that I have to give an account of myself to God.  The reason why I said 490 times is simply because 70X7=490.  I have been doing the math.  It is that God is watching all of us from heaven.  I will admit that I had to take Anger Management classes for a total of 8 years.  I had to learn how to get my emotions in check.  I understand that God is doing for us more than we are doing for ourselves.  This is a fact of life that God is doing for all of us.

In Addition, I really love all of you very much.  Do you know that God gives us instructions even while we are sleeping inside of our bed at night?  God speaks to us in many, many ways.  I am so excited to share this information because I want others to change for the better.  I am not a self-righteous person.  I am a person who accepts everyone as Children of God.  Is it true that we have to forgive other people 490 times?  The answer is a definite yes.

I want to inform everyone that we all have the Holy Spirit inside of us.  I want to say that 1st Corinthians 3:16 says: Do you not know that you are the Temple of The Living God, and the Holy Spirit dwells inside of us?  This is the truth.  I am so thrilled to help others like I was helped before by other people.  I am so happy that I am blessed each day when I get up, and each day when I lay down on top of my bed.

Also, I want to say that God is with me every single day of the week.  I just want everyone to please keep me in your prayers because I want to live according to the Word of God.  What is the definition of the word forgive?  The answer to this question is stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake. “I don’t think I’ll ever forgive David for the way he treated her” stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for (an offense, flaw, or mistake).”He was not a man who found it easy to forgive and forget” cancel (a debt).”He proposed that their debts should be forgiven“. What is the biblical meaning of forgiveness?

The Bible has plenty to say about forgiveness. … The Greek word translated as “forgive” in the New Testament, aphiēmi, carried a wide range of meanings, including to remit (a debt), to leave (something or someone) alone, to allow (an action), to leave, to send away, to desert or abandon, and even to divorce.  I had to let go of self and live for Jesus Christ.

Finally, I had to learn to allow God to help me to let go of the things from my past.  I am just happy and ready to serve Jesus Christ.  Forgiveness when it comes to the 490 times thing is endless.  All that I am really saying that we have to forgive others on a regular basis.  This is a life- long process.  It takes a lot of progress and effort on our part when it comes to making a difference in the lives of others.  I am a very nice person, who have come a very long way in my personal life.  I had to forgive people for taking advantage of me.  In some cases, I put myself in that situation for others to oppress me.  I have to examine my role in all of my doings.

In Conclusion, please remember to always think before your act.  I have to consider all of my ways by thinking before I decide to do anything.  It only takes a thought that would cause all of us to react in a positive or negative manner.  Is it true that we have to forgive each person 490 times?  Absolutely!!  This is a life-long process that lasts forever.  We are being watched by God and His Son Jesus Christ on a daily basis.  Thank you for reading my essay.

Job reproves his friends. (1-12) He professes his confidence in God. (13-22) Job entreats to know his sins. (23-28)

Commentary on Job 13:1-12

(Read Job 13:1-12)

With self-preference, Job declared that he needed not to be taught by them. Those who dispute are tempted to magnify themselves, and lower their brethren, more than is fit. When dismayed or distressed with the fear of wrath, the force of temptation, or the weight of affliction, we should apply to the Physician of our souls, who never rejects any, never prescribes amiss, and never leaves any case uncured. To Him we may speak at all times. To broken hearts and wounded consciences, all creatures, without Christ, are physicians of no value. Job evidently speaks with a very angry spirit against his friends. They had advanced some truths which nearly concerned Job, but the heart unhumbled before God, never meekly receives the reproofs of men.

Commentary on Job 13:13-22

(Read Job 13:13-22)

Job resolved to cleave to the testimony his own conscience gave of his uprightness. He depended upon God for justification and salvation, the two great things we hope for through Christ. Temporal salvation he little expected, but of his eternal salvation he was very confident; that God would not only be his Saviour to make him happy, but his salvation, in the sight and enjoyment of whom he should be happy. He knew himself not to be a hypocrite, and concluded that he should not be rejected. We should be well pleased with God as a Friend, even when he seems against us as an enemy. We must believe that all shall work for good to us, even when all seems to make against us. We must cleave to God, yea, though we cannot for the present find comfort in him. In a dying hour, we must derive from him living comforts; and this is to trust in him, though he slay us.

Commentary on Job 13:23-28

(Read Job 13:23-28)

Job begs to have his sins discovered to him. A true penitent is willing to know the worst of himself; and we should all desire to know what our transgressions are, that we may confess them, and guard against them for the future. Job complains sorrowfully of God’s severe dealings with him. Time does not wear out the guilt of sin. When God writes bitter things against us, his design is to make us bring forgotten sins to mind, and so to bring us to repent of them, as to break us off from them. Let young persons beware of indulging in sin. Even in this world they may so possess the sins of their youth, as to have months of sorrow for moments of pleasure. Their wisdom is to remember their Creator in their early days, that they may have assured hope, and sweet peace of conscience, as the solace of their declining years. Job also complains that his present mistakes are strictly noticed. So far from this, God deals not with us according to our deserts. This was the language of Job’s melancholy views. If God marks our steps, and narrowly examines our paths, in judgment, both body and soul feel his righteous vengeance. This will be the awful case of unbelievers, yet there is salvation devised, provided, and made known in Christ.

Ephesians 5:1-2 Commentary and Transparency Statement

Ephesians 5:1-2: And What It Means to All People!!  By Anthony Joseph Hopkins January 20, 2024

Praise the Lord Saints!!  Praise the Lord Everyone!!  How are all of you doing today?  Fine, I hope.  I would like to start this essay off by asking a very important question.  How do you go by becoming an imitator of Jesus Christ?  I am asking this question because I had to learn how to become an imitator of Jesus Christ from being around my mother, grandmothers, aunt, and from my grandfather.

Next, I want to say to everyone that I really need your prayers right now.  I want to be transparent by saying that I had to start all over again.  This is because I am a hoarder; I am a very lazy person.  I also want to say that my apartment is very messy.  I have been very generous to everyone else except myself.

Furthermore, I also want to say is that I help others more than myself.  I realize that right now that the money that we earn each month does not belong to us.  Our money belongs to God.  The air that we breathe out of our mouth does not belong to us.  According to Psalm 144:4 says: Man is like a breath.  His days is like a passing shadow.

How do we learn to become imitators of Jesus Christ as dear children?  First, we have to make an honest omission and confession to God, to ourselves, and to others.  We have to let go and let God.  We have to give God an opportunity to work in our lives.  I will admit that I hear voices that others do not hear.  These voices are not the Holy Spirit.  I listen to secular music from Mary J. Blige because it soothes me from hearing the voices.

Frankly, I suffer from a mental illness called schizoid affective disorder.  This means that I suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder at the same time.  I do not want to be labeled as a double minded person.  I have been listening to church sermons rather than secular music.  I am very overwhelmed by the voices that I hear that other people do not hear.

I am completely ready to submit to God.  I have to learn how to take salvation very seriously.  Another Example, is that my neighbors, who live inside of my apartment building play loud music all night long.  They also drink alcohol, and smoke marijuana.  I have been living inside of my apartment for almost 12 years now.

In Addition, I attend Fort McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio.  I have been a member of the church for almost 8 years now.  I am a Christian man.  I am confessing my faults and trespasses to everyone.  My neighbors keep me up all night by playing loud music.  They smoke cigarettes inside of the hallway inside of my apartment building.  It bothers me because I suffer from asthma right now.

Finally, I still have a question to ask.  How do you really deal with very difficult people?  My neighbors, who live on my floor are very apathetic.  I really need help this time around because I am trying my best to stay out of trouble.  Thank you for understanding me as a person.  I have been praying to God about my personal problems but God does not hear me because I am viewed as a sinner myself.

How Come The Internet Is The Devils Playground?

How come the internet is Satan’s Playground?

Let’s have a good look at this for a moment. What we mean by a playground is this? A playground consists of a very large space that is filled with equipment and activities for children to play inside of it. When it pertains to Satan we all have to be extremely careful. This playground can hinder us in various ways. For instance, it can prevent anyone from serving the Lord. 1st Thessalonians 2:18 in the New International Version says for we wanted to come to you-certainly, I Paul did again and again, but Satan blocked our way. This means that Satan prevents us from performing certain tasks for God.

He also keeps us from reading the Word of God, which is the sword of the spirit. Another way of looking at this playground that belongs to Satan is the way it causes billions of people to get addicted. A person can get easily captivated through the women who are online wearing certain apparel, or the music that we listen to on a daily basis. Some of it is demonic. For example, there are certain beats, lyrics, and tunes that easily captivate our minds and draw us into the music. There is an inner voice that communicates to each and every one of us. It is Satan using the internet as his playground. His purpose is to deceive the nations worldwide. The internet has been around for over 40 years.

The internet did not become available for public use until 1996. However, this major search engine and tool has changed so much over the past 20 years that it has caused millions of people to break up their marriages, relationships, and families. This is simply because of its graphic content that it contains. James 1:14-15 indicates that but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin and sin when it is full grown gives birth to death. This means that we must pay close attention to all of the things that we are doing behaviorally, psychologically, and socially, so that it pleases God.

It is not easy because we are in a constant battle with our flesh each and every single day. It is a war that is going on inside of the mind itself. Satan captures your mind and draws you completely away from what you are supposed to do for God. The Playground that I am talking about right now consists of not only the internet, but music, nightclubs, as well as other churches and occults. The internet is emphasized at this time because it is the main thing that people are using right now for research and entertainment.

There are more women online than men. There are more children between the ages of 12 to 30 online more than ever before. This is the main reason why parents need to start paying attention to the activities that each of their children is doing each day. James 1:21 says therefore get rid of all moral filth and evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you which can save you. This means that we must get rid of anything that contaminates our minds and accepts God’s word as a seed and allow it to grow inside of us. Also, we must get rid of anything that goes against God. Psalms 119:89 states that Your Word O Lord is eternal: it stands firm in the heavens. This means that God’s Word is the only thing that will remain on earth. The internet itself will dissolve just like the heavens and the earth. Technology is something that will not last forever. It is only a trend or fad. Trends and Fads are temporary and this is something that only last for a very short period of time.

This also includes the internet if it is a major problem for you. The internet as a playground is very serious. It is technology, which is true. Matthew 24:35 says that heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Jesus told His disciples this information while He was reading the End of Times. Jesus also told his disciples in Mark 13th chapter to watch because you do not know when the world will come to an end. Watch therefore watch!! Satan’s playground consists of many places. These places where Satan is deceiving the nations are everywhere. The internet itself is propaganda that is either positive or negative. The internet is also filled with images that are capable of causing the conscious to erode.
Therefore, causing billions to become addicted and there is no way out of it. This addiction is just as bad as smoking cigarettes. How come the internet is Satan’s playground? This is a very good question because there are things that go on regularly that causes everyone to panic. This is especially when there are hacking incidents that are going on worldwide. This is a major threat to national security. We are have to realize that this is very serious and we have to pay attention to what is going on around us through the use of our eyes and the rest of our 5 senses.

The Book of Colossians Summary

These are all of the chapters of the book of Colossians. Clicking on a chapter will show you the text of that chapter of Colossians in the Bible (New International Version).

Who Wrote the Book of Colossians?

Colossians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul approximately A.D. 60-62 while imprisoned in Rome. Written to Christians living in Colosse, a small city located on the Lycus River in present-day Turkey, the letter was delivered by Tychicus and Onesimus alongside those Paul wrote to the Ephesians and to Philemon.

Context and Background of Colossians

Timeframe

Colossians was written during Paul’s first imprisonment in Rome. Multiple sources list a variety of dates within the timeframe of 57-64 AD. Paul was under house arrest for two years in Rome, and shortly after that time period, he was martyred.

Setting

Paul was under house arrest in Rome for approximately two years. During this time, he wrote the “Prison Letters” to Colossae, Ephesus, Philippi, and Philemon. Upon delivery of the letter, Tychicus shared the state of Paul’s imprisonment with them.

Colossae was located in the Lycus valley, once an important town along the great East-West trade route in Asia Minor. Centuries later, during the time period of this letter, it was no longer flourishing as grandly but still a market city. Christians there were mostly Gentiles.

Recipients

The recipients of the letter were the congregates of Christian church Epaphras had planted in Colossae. Assigned by Paul to preach to the Gentiles in the Lycus Valley, the church he founded at Colossae was well known.

Main Theme and Purpose of Colossians

The main purpose of Paul’s Letter to the Colossians was to address the heresy (false teaching) Epaphras reported back to Paul while he was in Rome. “Colossian heresy was a mixture of an extreme form of Judaism and an early state of Gnosticism.” (NIVSB) Specifically, to speak against conflicting elements of Christianity with Oriental mysticism and asceticism. Additionally, they were being falsely advised to believe angel worship would add to their faith.

The doctrinal part of Paul’s letter (Chapters 1-2) warns the Colossians from being drawn away from Christ. Paul ensured the church that everything they needed is found in Jesus, and Jesus alone. Other teachers of biblical law were adding to the gospel, and in his letter, Paul brought them back to the essential gospel principles.

The practical part of Paul’s letter defines Christian character and boldly instructs them on how to live out their faith in Christ. Christians prominently guided by Judaism sought to overthrow the church at Colossae by impressing specific elements of their teachings: circumcision, the Law, and special seasons. Paul’s letter was meant to clarify and emphasize once more their freedom from the Law through their baptism in Christ, and to strike down the proposed necessity to worship/fear anyone but the Lord. “It is to set Christ forward, in this way, as Head over all creation as very God, and out of His relation to the church and to the universe to develop the Christian life, that they apostle writes.” (ISBE)

What Can We Learn from Colossians Today?

Paul’s Letter to the Colossians helps us to better understand Jesus Christ, and what His death on the cross means to believers. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Author of our Salvation. When we have a clear understanding of who He is, it then affects who we become. Through our obedience to His word, His slow and holy sanctification in our hearts, our lives begin to reflect Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit living in every believer as a result of Christ’s victory over death on the cross, He reveals His wisdom to us. Paul encouraged the Colossians, and we can take note as well today, to keep our focus on Jesus. He alone provides peace that surpasses all understanding. Some specific lessons we can learn from the Colossians:

  • The important pursuit of godly wisdom.
  • Jesus is the image of the invisible God. There are none besides Him. He is our Creator and Sustainer.
  • By Christ’s blood we are free from Old Testament Law and forgiven for our sins.
  • Christian life requires us to pursue the holy Character of Christ.
  • Our reliance as Christians should be on Christ alone, not human rules and regulations.
  • The church should function as a source of encouragement and accountability. It’s significant that Colosse wasn’t a church Paul had planted, yet he encouraged and advised them as if they were his own. Paul modeled an early care for Christ’s entire church, founded on His truth.

Our Favorite Verses from Colossians

“For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.” Colossians 1:9-12 NAS

“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.” Colossians 2:6-7 NAS

“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set you mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2 NAS

“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23-24 NAS

“Devote yourselves in prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.” Colossians 4:2-6 NAS
