My personal reflections of my most gifted mother!!

Today is the anniversary of my mother’s funeral.  I want to inform all of you that I really miss my mother very much.  My mother was a highly educated person.  She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio with honors.  My mother graduated from high school with perfect grades.  She was very knowledgeable in Math, English, Reading, Writing, and Social Problems.  I miss my mother so much that it is very hard for me to move forward without listening to her advice.  My mother graduated from Roosevelt High School in May of 1961.  This was exactly 4 years before I was born.

Next, I want to tell all of you that my mother had given birth to me first.  I know that my own biological father was non-existent in my life.  It is that my mother still managed to take care of me and my brothers and sisters.  I know that my sister came 2 years later on September 18, 1967.  This was monumental in her life by making sure that I had other siblings to play with.  I want to inform everyone that I am still in a state of shock because of my mother’s death.  However, my mother is still with me in spirit.  I know that this is a very sad time for me because I am really lost without my mother.

In Addition, I want to inform all of you that my mother and I had a great understanding of each other.  To be perfectly honest, my mother had given me everything that I wanted in life.  On Christmas of 1973, I remember my mother had taken all of us to Rike’s Department Store in Dayton, Ohio to see Santa Claus.  Santa asked me” what did I want for Christmas?” I indicated that I wanted a Pool Table, a Six Million Dollar Man, a BB Gun, and a GI Joe Man.  As soon as I woke up the next day, I got everything that I wanted.  My brothers and sisters got everything that they asked for as well.

Further, I want to inform everyone that my mother and I had a whole lot of fun together.  An example of the things that we have done together was play card games, checkers, and just by talking to my mother, I was able to have the confidence that I need to maintain myself in a fast paced society.  My mother had given birth to nine children.  She had given birth to 6 boys and 3 girls.
I really miss my mother very much.  My mother and I have had our moments of tension with each other from 1979 -1986.  This was a period of time when I was in high school at Nettie Lee Roth High School.  I was in NJROTC for 3 years.  I did very well in high school my freshman year.  Even though I got into a fight with a female during my science class.  I was suspended for 10 days for throwing a dictionary at her.  The young lady had thrown a chair at me, just barely missing me.  She got expelled for the rest of the school year.

Moreover, my mother was not very happy about me getting suspended from school.  I used to drink and smoke marijuana a whole lot.  I know that my life has completely changed.  My mother was very proud of me.  As soon as I graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School on June 10th 1986.  My mother was very proud of me. I also attended college at Central State University on April 1, 1987.  I want all of you to know that I will admit that I had behavioral problems during school.  It is that I had went to Job Corps in 1983.  I also worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Area C.  My mother and all of my family members encouraged me to do the right things.

Finally, I want to inform all of you that my mother attended both of my College Graduations at the University of Toledo On June 12, 1993 and again on June 17, 1995.  Mom and my sisters as well as my Aunt were there at my graduation.  I told my mother that I am happy to have earned my degrees.  My mother always wanted me to improve in my personal life as well as become a father of children myself.  As far as becoming a father is concerned, if I cannot take care of myself, what do I look like raising children?  I kept telling my mother that I can barely take care of myself.

When I had an opportunity to get married, it went in the air.  My mother still want me to become a father of my own children.  My mother knew that I was messing up all of the time.  She told me before she died that I would go through hell with the family.  My brothers and sisters and I still do not get along, but I love them anyway.  Thank you for reading my essay.
