The Sinful Nature vs The New Man!

The Sinful Nature Vs the New Man

This is an essay concerning the Sinful Nature vs the New Man.  Who do you think will win?  The sinful nature consists of the Old Man Nature.

The reason why I brought this up as a topic is simply because there are some things that I am struggling with as a Christian.  For Instance, I do not use any vulgarity.  I will admit that I am a lonely man right now.  I am not involved in a relationship right now because I was doing things that did not make sense.

Next, I want to say that it is not easy for me to deal with this problem.  I really need everyone to please keep me in your prayers.  The New man is a man that is holy.  The new man is very honest, truthful, considerate, respectful, and Christ-like.  When it comes to the Old Man, it thrives on things that are not of God.

I know that this information does not pertain to the Old and New Man, but it is helpful when it comes to dealing with issues that I am dealing with right now.  In Colossians 3:9-10 the apostle Paul mentions the “old self” and the “new self” as he writes “Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.” He says that the old self has been put aside. Why would one want to put aside the old self, or old man? We are taught to put aside our old self because it is being corrupted.

“if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,” (Ephesians 4:21-22). We can see that once we have been taught about Jesus Christ that we should want to do away with our old self that is full of sin, corrupted with the lusts and deceit of this world. We can further see that we can put off this old self by having it crucified with Jesus Christ. As he was crucified on the cross so that we may have forgiveness of sins, in like manner, our old self is nailed to that cross so that we will not walk in an unrighteous manner afterward. Paul says “knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin” (Rom 6:6). We also put off this old self by regeneration in accordance with Galatians 3:26 and Ephesians 4:23-24.

We have learned that the old man is one that is full of sin and worldliness. But what is the new man? The new man is the one that is full of the righteousness and holiness of God! “And put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth” (Ephesians 4:24). Also if you go back to the beginning of this article and read the text you’ll notice that this new man is one that is renewed according to the image of God (Colossians 3:10).

Once one has decided to put on the new man (and this can only be done through baptism (Gal 3:27), and put off the old, then there are things that must follow after doing so. One cannot expect to go to heaven by accepting Jesus Christ and then quit trying to live the Christian life. There are several things that the new Christian must strive to do every day to live a life for Jesus. It starts by speaking the truth about Jesus. We should feel so good about Him, that we would WANT to tell others about the wonderful happiness that we have found in Jesus. We should want to tell our neighbors about Him. “Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you, with his neighbor, for we are members of one another” (Ephesians 4:25).

In the past we might have gotten angry and sinned, but now the new man understands the righteousness of God and when one gets angry they will “sin not” as it states in Ephesians 4:26. We would be moved to do good works accompanied with good speech, while at the same time striving daily to resist the devil and all his temptations (Ephesians 4:27-29). This will be a struggle for the new babe in Christ but it can be done. Remember, God will not allow you to be tempted greater than you can endure (1 Corinthians 10:13). A new man will be moved to practice kindness to others. “And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).

Knowing that Christ died for us, forgiving us of all our sins, we should likewise be quick to forgive others in like-manner. When the old self has been put away, the new Christian will strive to have compassion on others (Colossians 3:12), and be long-suffering towards others (Colossians 3:13). The new man stands out because he has learned to put on love. “And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity”. (Colossians 3:14).

There is a big difference between the old man of the world and the new man of God. Which are you? Have you put away that old man? If not, you need to get into Christ and enjoy the wonderful blessings of being a Christian!  To me personally, the old and new man still exist because it is not I am not afraid of letting it go; it is that I am weak in this area.  It is really hurting me; when it comes to my relationship with God.  I would like for all of you to please pray for me because I am a very weak person, especially when it comes to dealing with this issues.  This is my story of the Old Man vs The New Man.

Matthew 5:44 Meaning

What Does Matthew 5:44 Mean?

 By: Anthony Joseph Hopkins

Good Day Everyone!! How are all of you doing today?  Fine, I hope.  I have a question to ask all of you.  What does Matthew 5:44 Mean?  First, I want to say that I used to have a problem with this Bible verse.  I used to be the type of person who used to retaliate on my enemies.  I used to retaliate verbally and nonverbally to my enemies for a very long period of time.  I had a real bad attitude towards the people who have wronged me in the past.

Second, I want to inform everyone that it is not easy to deal with enemies.  The enemies that I am currently dealing with are not flesh and blood.  My enemies that I am dealing with are principalities and powers.  I have been hearing voices that are not the Holy Spirit for the past 10 years now.  Even though I have made peace with all of my enemies.  I have another question.  How can you make peace with an enemy that you cannot see?

Third, I want to inform all of you that I cannot see things that are unknown.  I can rebuke Satan and his fallen angels.  I can pray for people who have used me personally.  I am very glad that I am on this subject because I got scammed out of $16,977 dollars in Western Union Funds by people that I did not know.  I was told to send my money to Accra, Ghana by people that I did not know.  I am also the type of person, who used to resent all of my enemies.  Right now, I am praying for all of my enemies.

Fourth, I am praying for people who owe me money.  Something told me a long time ago to pray for those who have used me for my money.  I had to pray for the women in my life, who have taken advantaged of me.  I read the Bible every single day of the week.  I want to say that I am also the type of person, who forgives very easily.  I know that I cannot forget it.  I am at peace with myself.  I am so happy right now that I am also a person who loves all people.

Fifth, I feel a whole lot better with myself.  I do not want to preach out of an empty spirit.  I want to be filled with God’s Holy Spirit.  I am preaching out of an overflow.  I am the type of person, who have a lot of clutter in my life.  I have peace today, and the world was giving me trouble.  When it comes to this Bible verse, I have learned a valuable lesson from my past because I want to drive the devil away from my emotions.

Sixth, God wants me to come out of my situation.  Jesus Christ is giving me peace that I have never had before.  Jesus Christ is giving me His peace.  We are moved by what the Word of God is saying.  I have been clean and sober since May 2, 1990.  I got clean and sober on a Wednesday evening in Dayton, Ohio.  I got tired of the high cost to low living.  Praying is the way we communicate with God in our life.

Seventh and Finally, I want to say that I am more humble than I have ever been throughout my life.  I want more peace, love, and solitude in my life.  This is the reason why I do not argue with other people anymore.  If I am right about something, I will express it.  According to the Bible verse, I give freely to others.  I think before I act right now.  Even if I give people money, I have to think about it in advance.  Otherwise, God is working with me indirectly.

God is working inside of me.  I do not go to bars and nightclubs anymore.  I do not deal with harlots.  I do not deal with lewd women anymore.  I am paying my tithes and offerings to the Church because the money that I earn each month belongs to God.  I have changed a whole lot behaviorally.

The Word of God

Many are called, O Lord, but few chosen. Many hear your Word with the physical ear but have no functioning spiritual ears. Many can see the words of Scripture on a printed page but are blind to spiritual truth. Open our minds and hearts more and more, we pray, to perceive and embrace your truths. Amen.

The Word of the Lord is as Sweet as Honey?

The Word of The Lord is as sweet as Honey!! I would like to start this essay by asking a very important question. Do you think that the Word of God taste as sweet as honey? The answer is yes!! According to Jeremiah 15:16 it says that when your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty. When I think of this Bible verse, The Word of God is very refreshing. I also gives me freedom and truth. I really enjoy God’s word every day of my life. Further, I want to tell everyone that God is Love. God has changed me for the better. I really do not like to use any vulgarity or engage in any behaviors of my past. The Holy Spirit is inside of me. I have been born again on 2/15/2015 at Fort McKinley Church in Dayton, Ohio. I got baptized in the name of the Father of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am changed by the power of the Holy Ghost. My mind itself has changed. I am educated about the Word of God. Psalms 1910 says they are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. The word of God has changed me because I am taking ownership and responsibility for all of my actions.

Moreover, I know that I have to read the Bible and remember a lot of verses. The Lord has touched me because I feel a whole lot better by listening to worship music instead of rap music. I do not listen to the music from the past and watch movies from my past because it is of the world. The world itself has changed so much from the time that I was a child that I would prefer to attend church on a regular basis, read the Bible each day, and pray honestly to God. My prayer life has changed because I always tell the truth to God. Matthew 6:8 says the Lord knows the things that you need of long before you ask Him. This is the reason why I recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Serenity Prayer each day.

Also, I always pay attention to my environment because it is changing as well. According to the State of Ohio Department of Commerce, over 9,000 people moved out of Dayton, Ohio last year. I did not know this until I saw it on the local news. Frankly, the Lord is keeping me here in my hometown of Dayton, Ohio for a reason. Even though my family members are upset with me because I attend AA/NA Meetings on a regular basis.

I have been clean and sober for 28 years as of this year. In order for me to have a conversation with God, I must open up the Bible and ask God to speak to me through His word. God’s love for us will never cease. The Lord will be with us every day of our lives. God has not stopped loving you. God will never give up on you, we should not give up on Him. The Word of the Lord is true. The love of God works as long as we give Him a chance in our life. Love never fails. The Bible is a conversation material for us. The Lord God will engage us with His word.

Finally, I want to say that ever since I have dedicated my life to Christ, I feel a whole lot better. If you want to change, that will put a smile on God’s face. God is smiling on all of us who want to change. Forgiveness is a part of spiritual healing. I have been learning how to appreciate all of the small things that God has done for me. I thank Him when I wake up. I thank Him when I read His word and listen to His music. I also ask God to follow me everywhere I go. I even thank Him for allowing me to write, read, and to use the computer. I ask God to reveal all of the strongholds in my personal life. I am happy to disclose this information to others. I ask God to do all of the work in my life. Thank you for reading my blog.

1st Timothy 5:8 And What It Means to All People?

By Anthony Joseph Hopkins

Good Day Everyone!! I want to inform all of you that I am blessed and highly favored by the Lord. How are all of you doing today? Fine, I hope. I want to say that I am writing this essay because I really need prayer in this area. First, I would like to say that for the past 4 years, I have neglected my household.

I will admit that I have been paying bills for things that I do not need. I want to say that I have been paying an excessive amount of money on a Cricket Wireless Phone Bill. I have been paying $115.00 per month for three phone lines. I also have to pay my student loans of $50.00 per month for three months from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have lawyers that I am paying each month for legal services. My rent right now is $273.00 per month for Public Housing in Dayton, Ohio. I also pay other bills and offerings to my Church.

Second, I want to say that as soon as I read this Bible verse, I started crying because I have been neglecting myself physically and financially. I want to say that I need another Smartphone and I have to pay at least another $125.00 for a phone. I have been hurting mentally because I have been hearing voices as well. When it comes to this Bible verse, it has woke me up spiritually because I have been evaluating my life over the past month right now. I will also admit that I have been feeling like an unbeliever because I have neglected myself and my entire household.

Third, I have been getting sifted like wheat by Satan and his demons. This has completely altered my way of thinking. I am very sorry for telling everyone this information, but it is the truth. I have been relying on Meals on Wheels food each week instead of purchasing actual food for my own refrigerator. I know that I am very wrong for mentioning all of this because I can barely take care of myself. I receive monthly benefits from the Government because I suffer from Grand Mal Seizures and I also suffer from Schizoid Affective Disorder. I also have other health problems that I have right now. I am taking 23 prescription medications each day. Therefore, I need all of your prayers because I suffer from Glaucoma and Cataracts.

Fourth, I will admit that I have been hindered by Satan because I have been oppressed and depressed. I know that I have to get a job right now. However, I have been going to the hospital each month for therapy and for psychiatric consultations. My household bills are $880.00 each month. I also have to pay $186.00 dollars per month for life insurance as well. I want to also say that I need Pastoral Counseling right now. I also have to pay for storage of all of my possessions that are located in Charlotte, NC. I have cried and felt depressed for the past few months. I need all of your prayers and understanding because I have been beating myself up emotionally over this Bible verse. Reality is sinking in right now. I repent of all of my sins. Please forgive me of my sins.

I am very sorry for neglecting my household and for robbing God in all Tithes and Offerings. I realize that the money that I earn does not belong to me. It belongs to God. Everything belongs to God!!

Matthew 6:21: And What It Means to All People by Anthony Joseph Hopkins September 26, 2022      Good Day Everyone!!  How are all of you doing today?  Fine, I hope.  I would like to discuss a very familiar Bible verse from Matthew 6:21. It says; For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. I selected this Bible verse to talk about because our hearts and feelings store a lot of information and emotions from both the past and the present day.  I am saying this because my heart has stored a lot of information and emotions from the past. Next, this is called emotional baggage.  This operates by storing our emotions to the point that we end up exploding because of our situation that we are involved in at the present time. What is the definition of the word treasure?  Treasure is something that is concrete or real.  I am talking about things that we really value the most.  I want to say for example, watches, diamond rings, and bracelets.  I am also talking about money is something that we tend to treasure enough of it that we can purchase something that we really want.  I am not saying that things that we keep a lot of; can become an idol.Further, what is an idol, you may ask, is some thing that we tend to hold onto physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or psychologically.  It is when we are putting emphasis on this more than God.  It can also become financially as well.  There are times that our hearts can be filled with feeling about a woman, friend, or simple possessions that people give to us.Moreover, I want to say that there is a difference between storing treasures and hoarding.  Hoarding is when we gather or collect things that appease us at one time or another.  I want to say that there is an emphasis on needs; rather than wants.  I say that because I used to collect books and read one book at a time.  I was reading my books at my own pace. In Addition, our own feelings can be treasured as well.  Emotional attachments can become a very serious problem.  There are times when we do things out of our own emotions.  I used to be very angry at the people, who used to abuse me physically and emotionally as well as verbally. In Summary, Matthew 6:21 has a lot to do with the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus Christ was teaching the people about things from the Bible, and how we are supposed to conduct ourselves around people and with God.  For where your treasure is your heart will be also is a metaphor regarding changes in our behavior. Finally, I want to inform all of you that Jesus Christ is coming back very soon.  Frankly, we do not know when He is coming back to earth.  There is a lot of anticipation of His arrival. I am anticipating his arrival by saying that I only wish I can live to see Him with my eyes.  I have a lot of faith in God.  To be honest, I wish I can see Him right now because I have a lot of physical problems that man cannot cure with medication.  The kind of problems that I have are as follows: Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Depression, and Schizoid Affective Disorder.  I am taking too much medication for depression.  I am taking 7 different medications for depression itself. In Conclusion, I want to say that you really do not have to have a lot of possessions to have treasures, your negative attitude can affect you and others.  I want to say that if a person is angry all of the time, it has a lot to with the way that we display ourselves in the eyes of God.  In God’s Eyes, we are still sinners. Romans 3:23 says; For All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.  I know that this is an essay about Matthew 6:21, but our own emotions can get us into trouble with God.  It is the way that we carry ourselves that has an effect on our behavior in front of God.  I want to say that I love all of you very much.  I mean it!!  When it comes to treasures that the Bible is talking about are tangible items such as the things that we gain for ourselves. There is an emphasis on what we collect for ourselves that can affect our relationship with God.  It can also be based on our universal feelings such as anger or hate.  If our heart is inside of the wrong place, it has a lot to do with our relationships with other people and God.  Please think before you act!!  Always Look Deep Before You Leap!!  God Bless All of You.  God Bless All of You!! My name is Anthony Joseph Hopkins and I am from Dayton, Ohio.  I am a 57-year-old man, who have a lot of common sense.  I graduated from the University of Toledo with an Associates Degree in Social Services Technology on June 12, 1993.  I also earned my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies on June 17, 1995.  I have earned 235 college education credits.  My hobbies are as follows: Reading the Bible, Traveling, Attending Church using Computers, and spending time with my family and friends.

Deuteronomy 22:5: And What It Means to All People!!  By Anthony Joseph Hopkins October 29, 2020         This is an essay that is pertaining to one Bible verse.  The Bible verse is Deuteronomy 22:5: Says A Woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a Man put on Women’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.  I personally understand that it is the 21st Century.  It is that men and women are not reading the Bible.       Next, this Bible verse is very simple.  A man is not supposed to wear anything that belongs to a woman, and a woman is not supposed to wear anything that belongs to a man.  This is the reason why there is something called unisex. 21st Century        Today, Women are wearing Men’s clothes and shoes today.  I have noticed that mean is getting sex change operations.  Men are dating other men, whereas, Women are dating each other. Further, less than 10% of the United States Population are transsexuals.  In Addition, Men and Women are dating the same sex.         I have selected this topic because we are living in the Last Days Worldwide: according to the Bible.  During the President Obama Administration, the United States Supreme Court approved of same sex unions in the United States.  The Supreme Court has been biased when it comes to their decision-making processes.        Moreover, during the past 30 years, textile industries have been making unisex clothes.  There are certain things, or customs that are socially acceptable for both men and women today.  I want to inform everyone that when it comes to outer apparel, companies are making coats and jackets for both men and women.  I even know that it seems like our society has accepted a same sex agenda.         In Addition, I want to say that certain equipment that we use for general purposes are now unisex equipment.  When it comes to Deuteronomy 22:5, this Bible verse is being ignored today.  I say this because people are doing exactly what their hearts desired.        Furthermore, I want to say that everything has changed so much that it is leading to a state of demoralization right now.  To be honest, I really think that the same sex agenda should be abolished in the United States.        Finally, I want to inform all of you that everyone should read this Bible verse.  This is the reason for the Torah.  The Torah means Mosaic Laws.  The Laws from the Old Testament in the Bible.  The Bible verse that I am talking about is simple.  Men should practice things that pertains to men, and women should practice things that are feasible for women.  We have to learn how to be transparent in our behavior and actions.

How Do We Learn How To Cast Your Care Upon God?

By: Anthony Joseph Hopkins February 2, 2020

Praise The Lord Saints!! Praise The Lord!! How are you doing today?  Fine, I hope.  I want to ask all of you a question.  How do we learn how to cast our care upon God?

First, I want to inform all of you that all human behavior is learned.  We learn all things by watching our parents, other people, and watching other things.  How do we learn how to cast your care upon God?  Second, we are supposed to pray to God and inform Him that I am casting all of this to you.  I am casting all of my troubles, concerns, and issues to God.

Next, I want to say that we are supposed to let go of all of the things that concern us.  I am talking about all of the things that are currently bothering all of us.  I want to inform all of you to please establish an intimate relationship with God.

How do we do this, please be honest and truthful with your Higher Power.  I know for me that all of my behaviors that I have learned in my life, were learned by listening to my parents.  I even learned how to use vulgarity from my parents.  Every time my parents used to argue with each other, my siblings and I heard everything that they were saying.  Actually, how do you really cast your care?  Give it to the Lord by telling Him that I no longer can bear this burden.

Further, I want to inform all of you that I had to learn how to cast all of my burdens to God.  I want to inform all of you that it has not been easy to cast all of my burdens.  Jesus Christ has listened to all of my concerns for the past 54 years.  I am a 54 year old man, who is suffering from multiple health problems right now.  Casting all of your care is very easy.  I have to learn how to literally let it go.  I will admit that I tend to dwell on things that bothers me for a long period of time.

Moreover, I want to say that I am a God Fearing Man.  I will admit that I have been dwelling on the past.  For Example, it has taken me 12 years to forgive my ex-wife for what she has done to me.  I will also admit that I have an anger management problem.  I have taken anger management classes for 8 straight years; while living in Charlotte, NC.  I want to inform all of you that I am a very nice person.  For those, who actually know me, I have been allowing other people to take advantage of me.  I know that my family members, and I have our differences, and I love them very much.  I know that some of my family members tend to dwell on the past.

In Addition, I want to say that I have to stop dwelling on my past myself.  I want to inform all of you that I am looking for a solution to all of my current problems.  I want to say that taking medication does not help me.  Therefore, I would like for all of you to please keep me in your prayers because I am in a whole lot of pain right now.  I am in pain physically, emotionally, and mentally.  God knows exactly what is actually going on with me.  Many people actually think that they really know me as a person.

Also, I want to inform all of you that only God knows me from the inside out.  When it comes to casting our cares to the Lord, He knew me from the time that I was inside of my mother’s womb.  I know that my life has not been very easy because only God knows my heart.  Man only knows the outer appearance.  It is the Lord that knows my heart.

Finally, I want to inform all of you that all of this encourage me to pray every single day and night.  I belong to God.  My money belongs to God.  The air that I breathe each day belongs to God.  Everything belongs to God.

In Conclusion, I want to inform all of you that it is time to let go of the things in the past.  It is time to give all of our problems to God.  I know that I am still a Work in Progress.  I am not perfect, but loves me from the inside out.  Please give all of your problems to the Lord Jesus Christ because He really loves you.  I know that I have Him as my personal Savior.  I love all of you very much.  Please take good care of yourselves.
