The Front of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments and Needs Assessment!!

Front of The Building

The maintenance staff hired a private company to maintain its groundskeeping related tasks.  However, the sidewalks and benches are clean.  The maintenance staff are doing their very best to maintain the building.  The South Fire Escape needs a power washing job.  The City of Dayton, Ohio Metropolitan Population is less than 140,000 people who live here in the best of Aviation City.

Neighborhood Called Northern Hills

The Northern Hills Community is very diverse.  The Population of Northern Hills is less than 5,000 residents.  In Addition, Northern Hills has Churches, Restaurants, and a group of very friendly neighbors.  At least, it is very hospitable.  I want to inform all of you that this area is inside of Harrison Township.

Harrison Township and The City of Dayton:

The Harrison Township Area is one of the largest townships inside of the City of Dayton.  Harrison Township has a 15-mile radius.  It also runs into the Community of Northridge and Butler Township.

Wentworth Avenue as A Whole:

Wentworth Avenue has at least 50 homes that are located on the street.  There is a vacant lot that sits adjacent to the Dayton Baptist Church.  Most of the residents that live on Wentworth Avenue are Democrats.  Therefore, a Needs Assessment need to be done in order to address the needs of the residents that live at Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments and private homes that are along the street of Wentworth Avenue.  This Neighborhood is very nice, although the smell of marijuana and other drugs are inside of the community.

Pictures of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments and Outside of the Neighborhood:

These Three Pictures are of the Outside of the Building.  At night, everything jumps off!!  For Example, if a person needs anything in reference to the drug trade: This is Your Flava!!  I know that this area is well populated during the day as well.  For Instance, I would like to sell my items that are inside of my apartment or donate them to Charity!!

Overall, I know that the apartment complex has its ups and downs, but if you are able to tolerate the smell of marijuana and other drugs, then this is a very good fit for you.  I know that there is a competitive spirit inside of the Walls of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.

I would like to say that I have been underestimated by many!!  God will always have the first and the last word!!

My Personal Assessment Consists of the Following:  A playground for the children that are currently living inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments with their parents.  An Example of this would be an area where children can play with playground equipment.  AA/NA Meetings for those who are in active addiction while living inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.  These meetings should occur around the clock!!

A Police Station need to be located inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments in order to address the needs of the citizens of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.  Due to the round the clock criminal activities on all six floors.  I have come to realize that Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments is a sanctuary for criminals.  These criminals are blending in with the population at Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.  The Cameras that are inside of the building should be linked with the United States Department of Homeland Securities.

There is a small population of women who reside inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments with their children.  They are inhaling second hand smoke that comes from marijuana, cigarettes, and other drugs.  There is a Black and Mild Population that smoke and freak their black and mile cigars with marijuana and other drugs.

The Second-Hand Smoke can cause cancer and other diseases.  This is very dangerous for the small children to inhale the smoke that is coming from these substances.  I recommend that this should become an all Non-Smoking Community that is free from all types of drugs.  Alcohol is a drug!!  I know that earlier in the month, public urination inside of the building is very frequent.  This is a major problem that is inside of the building.  There are a small population of residents who drink beer, wine, and hard liquor on a regular basis.

This is my Assessment and I hope to have these recommendations approved by The County Board of Commissioners and both State and Federal Government Agencies.  I know that the current property manager think that this is all in my mind.  This is serious!!  Thank You for Your Cooperation.

This is an opportunity to Repent of all of my sins.  First, I want to thank God for allowing me to confess all of my faults and transgressions to you.  I am surrendering to only You.  I will admit that I have made some mistakes in judgement.  This is because I was only informing another person about a specific problem.  Lord God, I wanted this illegal activity that is going on in the building to stop.  This drug problem has taken a toll on me physically, mentally, psychologically and spiritually. I am taking the Bible seriously now.

Next, I have been feeling very sick physically because of the smell of marijuanaand other drugs that the residents and criminals are indulging in at the moment.  For Example, I made a phone call to My AA Sponsor because I was vomiting up blood on Sunday of this week.  The Property Manager quarrelled with me about the drug problem that is taking place inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.  I had to get transported to Grandview Hospital because I smelled something like marijuana laced with fentanyl.

Finally, I want to inform those who are in the Drug Selling Trade that God is watching you and me.  I know that my neighbor’s are still awake because I have decided to do some writing.  Lord Jesus, I love my neighbors however, do they love me in return? 85% percent of the residents love and respect me for me.  I am in need of prayers right now because I am dealing with too many health issues.  Lord Jesus, I am in need of Your Protection right now.  Lord,  whatever I have done wrong. Only you understand as well as the 85% of the residents in the building!

This is one of my favorite Bible verses.   Blessed is the one whose Transgressions is forgiven and whose sin is covered.  This means that as long as I confess my sins to Him I will be okay.  I know that I have to maintain good behavior while I am in God’s Presence and other people.

I am too blessed to be stressed.  I still have a lot of gratitude for my personal Savior Jesus Christ.  I know that God has the first and last word.  I might not be perfect, but I know that God loves me and accepts me as the person that I am.

I know that God’s righteous judgement will stand forever.  I know that I have been telling the truth about things as of late because many women and children need a safe place to call home.  I know that there are many people who are throwing stones at me for nothing.  Jesus Christ states that he who is without sin cast the first stone.

The only person who was perfect is Jesus Christ.  I know that I am striving for spiritual progress rather than spiritual perfection.  God is with me.  Therefore I have nothing to fear.  Please keep me and my family members in your prayers and thoughts.

The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.
From the place of His dwelling He looks on all of the inhabitants of the earth.
He fashions their hearts individually: He considers all of their works.

There are some people who do not believe what the Bible is saying to them.  I will always take God very serious. Some people do not believe that Jesus Christ exist.  I really believe that Jesus Christ exist.  No matter what people say about me, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins, so that I can be in the right fellowship with God.

God and Jesus Christ are one.  You know something, God was watching me and the Property Manager quarreling with each other today.  Lord God, please give me directions on how to deal with difficult people.

Finally, I have to ask God for real what to do about my personal thorn in my flesh.  I am deeply sad right now because I argued with someone who is not worth my time and my feelings.  I’m very sorry for getting out of topic.

In Conclusion, I have to pray for forgiveness in my life right now.  I need to pray for difficult people who are in my life at the moment.  I am praying for God to please forgive me for the wrong that I have done in your presence.  I am very sorry for committing sin in your presence.  I have to be transparent with you and your Creation.  I am very sorry for my Transgressions.  I’m very sorry for disappointing you.

Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments

Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments

                           Vs

The City of Dayton, Ohio Harrison Township

Good Day Everyone!!  My Name is Anthony Joseph Hopkins, and I am writing a Comparison and Contrast Paper regarding Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments Vs the City of Dayton, Ohio.

First, I would like to make a few observations regarding Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.

Population:

The Population at Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments consists of 200 People living inside of a building that has six floors.  The building itself used to be a Convalescent Center during the 1970s.  The Population at Wentworth Hi Rise is located at 2765 Wentworth Avenue Dayton, Ohio 45406.  However, the Population at Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments is a mixed community.

Further, there are extra individuals, who are hiding from law enforcement.  There is a minority of people, who are selling fentanyl and marijuana on a regular basis.  There is also an unfamiliar street drug called TANQ that is available in the Wentworth Hi Rise Community.

Next, I want to inform all of you that Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments is a sanctuary for criminals.  There are criminals from all diverse backgrounds, who are avoiding prosecution right now.

I am only addressing a small population of people, who are selling drugs of all types to its own people.  There is competition on all six floors at Wentworth Hi Rise.  Therefore, these criminals are made up of a hierarchy of criminals inside of the community.

Moreover, I want to inform all of you that; there is a working class of people who live inside of Wentworth Hi Rise.  The street itself is very diverse.  There are other people who are congregating inside of Wentworth Hi Rise on a daily basis.

Drug Scene:

The drug scene is what I am very concerned about right now.  I know that we all make choices in our lives that has an adverse effect on our behavior.  I know this because I used to be an alcoholic and an addict for 18 years.  From 1972-1990, I used to drink beer and wine on a daily basis.  From 1974-1990, I started smoking marijuana on a daily basis.  For 18 years, I have walked the pavement just to go and purchase my drug of choice.  The drug scene inside of this part of Harrison Township smells like marijuana and other drugs inside of the neighborhoods at large.

Otherwise, the Population at Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments have some good people living inside of the neighborhood.  I have been living inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments for going on 13 years.  As far as the inside of the building is concerned, it is really in need of a lot of work.  For Example, the Air Ducts and Vents inside of every apartment need cleaning out.

In Addition, I want to inform all of you that the floors inside of the hallways are somewhat clean.  The floors inside of the second floor are immaculate.

There are other floors that are inside of the building that are clean.  Whereas, the lower floors are decent.  With the exception of the marijuana smell that you come in contact with as soon as you walk inside of the building.  You can smell the marijuana through the air circulation vents.

Inside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments:

I have taken a few pictures of the inside and outside of the building.  This will confirm and verify what the condition of the building as a whole.

Staff:

The Staff at Wentworth Hi Rise are very understanding people.  The staff members and I have an understanding relationship with each other.  I know that; the property manager is doing his best to maintain the property, while he is on duty.  The other staff members are doing their very best to maintain the grounds outside as well as the inside maintenance each day.

Administration:

The Administration consists of people who are high ranking officials and a CEO of the company called The Greater Dayton Premier Management.  The CEO refused to address any of my concerns herself.  Therefore, I am not going to give this company an A+ Rating.  I am giving this company a D- Rating.

Laundry Room:

The Laundry Room has brand new Washers and Dryers inside of it.  The price to wash clothes here had increased due to the Cost of Living Adjustment.  The cost to purchased new appliances have went up dramatically since 2010.

Front of The Building:

The maintenance staff hired a private company to maintain its groundskeeping tasks.  I want to say that; the sidewalks and benches are very clean.  The maintenance staff are doing their best to maintain the upkeep of the Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments.

Atmosphere:

The atmosphere both inside and outside of Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments smell like marijuana.  I can understand why the visitors complain about the marijuana smell from the outside of the building.

Our righteousness is like filthy rags to God.

Each and every one of us has become like something that is uncleaned.  And all of our righteous acts are like filthy rags:. We all wither together like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.

This is very true to me and everyone else.  We are not worthy to be in His Kingdom.  God loves us so much that He wants us to be inside of His Kingdom anyway.  This is the reason why I read Psalm 103:8-16 all of the time.

Finally, I would like to say that God is a forgiving person.  This means that we should live and imitate His behavior.

Does God Accepts Me As I am?

Photo

Does God Accept Me As I Am?

The answer to this question is yes. The Lord might not accept the sin that we committed, but He accepts us as we are personally. The Lord made it possible so that I am able to have Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. However, God has made it possible through His own Son Jesus to die for all of our sins, both past and present.
For me personally, the Lord died for my sins. I am happy that I have Him as my personal Savior. I am very happy to be able to have Jesus Christ as someone that I can always talk to at my personal leisure. According to 1st Thessalonians 5:17 says pray without ceasing.
Jesus Christ is available for all of us. I am so happy that He is the head of my life. I am able to pray anywhere I want, as long as it is done without disturbing others. The Lord has made a way for me that no man cannot provide. On Sunday February 15, 2015, I was baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I was saved and sealed by the Blood of the Lamb. I got baptized on this day. I have rededicated my life to Jesus Christ on that day because I was tired of being sick and tired from societal issues. The Lord has made it possible for me to attend a church that is appropriate for me. The Church that I attend is called Fort McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio.

Moreover, I have been a member of Fort McKinley for 4 years now. I really love my home church because it has given me an opportunity to affiliate with the congregation of the saints, and to learn God’s Word. Therefore, God accepts me as I am as a person because He loves me and He has known me from the time that I was inside of my mother’s womb. He ordained me and sanctified me as a prophet to the nations. He has done this for all of us. We are the Temple of the Lord, and we do not belong to ourselves. We belong the Lord and we are not our own.

What Does The Bible Say About Slander?

What Does The Bible Say About Slander?

This is an essay that ask one good question. What does the Bible say about slander? What is the definition of the word slander? Slander is make false and damaging statements about (someone). The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation. However, there is one particular Bible verse that has a whole lot to do with slander. Psalms 73:9 says: They set their mouths against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. This means when people talk about you, it spreads throughout the community, internet, social media, school, or neighborhood.
When it comes to the Bible, we are supposed to avoid foolish talk and empty philosophies. 1st Timothy 6:4 says: He is proud knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, where if cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings. You know what this means, we have to pray for those who are our enemies. We must keep our friends close and our enemies closer. I know that this is very difficult for some people to accomplish on their own. Therefore, we have to be mindful of other people at all times. To be honest with everyone, I realize that my problem stems from my past. For Example, the people that I have affiliated with were bad.

Slander hurts both the victim and the perpetrators themselves. Titus 1:10-11 Says: (10) for there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision: (11) whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. This means that we cannot affiliate with the ungodly in any way; especially those people who are vain talkers and deceivers. This also goes for false prophets. As I recall, I was a victim of malicious slander and fraud growing up in my own hometown of Dayton, Ohio. I was hurt really bad because the people who I thought were my friends were using me.
To be honest, both people are hurt by these false accusations. Titus3:2 says as follows: To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. We must learn how to be polite in our expressions to one another. Titus 3:3 says: For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceiving, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice, and envy. We were hateful and hating one another. I can truly can identify with Titus 3:3 because I was living in sin. I was living inside of the world, and doing the things of the world. I also used to be selfish and bitter by nature. Through prayer from others and being admonished in a positive matter by others. I have changed my ways.

Hebrews 8:11 says: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother saying, know the Lord: For all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. Everyone will know the Lord. This is because He is a righteous Judge. I am very happy that I have Him as my personal Savior. Titus 3:9 says: But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law: For they are unprofitable and vain. We must avoid anything that is not of God. There are false prophets that are inside of the world deceiving others that are in the faith. We must test the Spirits to see whether or not they are of God.

Luke 6:45 And What It Means to All People!!

Luke 6:45: And what does it mean to All People!! By Anthony Joseph Hopkins September 30, 2023

Good Evening Everyone!! How are you doing this evening? Fine, I hope. I am writing an essay about Luke 6:45, and it says: A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

What this Bible verse is saying that God recognizes all of the good that is inside of our hearts. God is watching all of us as well as those who are not Christians every single day of the week. I am learning what defiles a man. What defiles a man that his thinks what is inside of his heart and it comes out of him or her.

Next, I want to inform all of you that my life itself has changed for the better. I might have to have operations this year to correct my vision. Otherwise, I am doing fine. I am blessed when God wakes me up in the morning, and when I go to sleep He gives me instructions for the next day.  According to Job 33:16 it states that God opens the ears of men and gives them their instructions.

Further, I want to inform all of you that God is coming back very soon. God is going to modify what mankind had created, and make sure that all people have access to technology and other things from Jesus Christ. I want to say that I did not know that we can defile ourselves based on what the heart says. Whatever is inside our hearts will have to come out constructively.

Moreover, I am still learning about the Bible myself, and there are chapters that I have read through and I forgot to take notes on what I have read inside of the Bible. I know that I am still learning all about the Bible. For now, on, I am going to take notes for the rest of my life.

I am a type of person who loves to read the Bible every single day of the week. I am very glad that I can read, write, and pray to the God who has created all things. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing me to go to the Library just to type my essay. I know that my writing might not be the best, but at least, I am telling the truth about Jesus Christ.

Finally, I want to say that God loves you from the inside out. He loves me for the person that I am right now. I do not use vulgarity because I asked God to remove the desire for me to use filthy language. I want to inform everyone that I am a Born-Again Christian Man. I have been having a very difficult time controlling my emotions because my neighbors inside of my apartment building smoke marijuana and drink alcohol on a daily basis. I cannot deal with the smell of marijuana anymore. I really need your prayers because I am living inside of an environment that is not conducive towards my personal needs. I am asking Jesus Christ to bridle my tongue on a daily basis.

In Conclusion, I want to say that what I have learned to do is think before you act. I have changed, even though I smell marijuana every single day of the week while I am inside of my apartment complex in Dayton, Ohio. I am learning how to get my emotions in check. I love everyone who I am in contact with very much. I only want some of the residents to follow me to Church and the Library on a daily basis. Thank You for reading my essay.

What is idolatry? What does God say about idolatry in the Bible?

When you think of idols you likely think of something from the past. Golden statues, trinkets, and the worship of many gods. And that certainly is part of what an idol is. But we often miss the fullness of the real idolatry definition and how it applies to our lives today.

In this blog post we are going to look at what exactly an idol is and examples of idolatry in the Bible. I think we will find that idolatry is still around today and is something that we need to look out for.

Let’s start by looking at an idolatry definition that sets the foundation for us.

Idolatry Definition (What Is Idolatry?)

Idolatry typically refers to worshiping idols, images, or other substitutes for the one true God.

The most common forms of idolatry are:

  1. The worship of trinkets, statues, or images of gods.
  2. The worship of trees, rivers, hills, stones, etc for the magical/spiritual powers they hold (Fetishism)
  3. The worship of nature. The sun, moon, and stars as supreme powers of nature.
  4. The worship of heroes or deceased ancestors.

Here’s how a few dictionaries define idolatry:

Merriam-Webster Idolatry Definition: the worship of a physical object as a god or immoderate attachment or devotion to something.

dictionary.com Idolatry Definition: the religious worship of idols. Or excessive or blind adoration, reverence, devotion, etc.

Oxford’s Dictionary Idolatry Definition: the practice of worshiping statues as gods or too much love or admiration for someone or something.

So far all these idolatry definitions probably check the boxes of how you and I think about idolatry. But I think those idolatry definitions fall a little short in grasping the fullness of what an idol is. To be clear, I don’t think those definitions are wrong. Just that their view is too narrow.

Here’s how I would define idolatry: Idolatry Definition: When something becomes more important to us than God.

I think this definition gives us a broader scope of what idolatry is. It’s not just about worshiping trinkets, statues, or images. It’s about placing something above God.

I love how Tim Keller defines it in Counterfeit Gods. Idolatry definition: “An idol is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, and anything that you seek to give you what only God can give.”

I think this helps us see that idolatry isn’t just something in the past, but is still all around us. We’ll look more at that in a minute. First let’s look at idolatry in the Bible.

Idolatry In The Bible

Idolatry in the Bible is regarded as a pagan practice that was imported into the nation of Israel. Most every other nation believed that worship many gods was far better than worshiping one God. Thus most nations had multiple gods that they worshiped for specific purposes (fertility, crops, health, etc…).

Israel was a unique nation in that it did not have any idols or worship multiple gods. But they were constantly tempted by their counterparts. If you were to just thumb through the Old Testament you will see that they regularly gave into idolatry.

God sets the precedent for his people early on that his people shall have no gods except him, and they shall not worship any idol. The 10 Commandments lead off with a command against idolatry (Exodus 20:3). And in most subsequent books in the Old Testament echo this commandment (Exodus 23:1324Deuteronomy 4:23-246:14Joshua 23:7Judges 6:10, and 2 Kings 17:35-38). But Israel continually struggled to actually follow this commandment.

The first reference to idol worship is found just a few chapters into founding of the Hebrew people. In Genesis 31:19 Rachel steals her father’s household gods. Thus the nation of Israel begins their affair with idols.

The first instance of the entire nation of Israel engaging in idol worship was at Mount Sinai where they gathered to worship a golden calf. After this idolatry in the Bible it really picks up in frequency.

The book of Judges is chock-FULL of the God’s people turning to false gods and idol worship. Eventually the nation of Israel was divided into a northern and southern kingdom. And all the rulers of the northern kingdom engaged in idolatry (2 Kings 17:6-18). The southern kings had a slight better track record, but not by much.

Just about all the hardships the nation of Israel faced was due to their worship of idols and false gods. Just about all the prophets warned the nation of Israel against this practice (2 Kings 21:10-16). But they went largely unheard. (Isaiah 48:4-5Jeremiah 2:4-30, Ezekiel 8)

There were periods of little to no idol worship. During the reign of King Saul and King David, there is no evidence of idolatry. And after the exile the worship of gods and idols ceased.

The New Testament is also vocal about idolatry. Colossians 3:5 and Romans 1:22-23 remind us of the dangers of idolatry. Many times the New Testament warns of being seduced by the things of this world to the point where they become the most important thing in our life- which is, by definition, idolatry.

Idolatry in the Bible is prevalent and is always condemned. Instead God’s people are told to worship only the one true God and to avoid the worship of worthless idols.

We see time and time again in the Bible that we tend to drift away from God. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament are full of warnings against idolatry because we are so prone to wander. We must be diligent in examining our life for idols.

Here’s a full list of what the Bible says about idols if you want more context: Bible Verses About Idolatry

Idolatry Meaning For Us Today

Now that we have a good idolatry definition and we know a little more about the history of idolatry in the Bible, let’s look at what this means for us today.

My guess is when you think of idolatry you think of the golden calf or little trinkets people worship. But as we saw in our earlier definition, an idol is anything that becomes more important to us than God. And by that definition idol worship is still happening today.

Dwight L. Moody says it this way: “You don’t have to go to heathen lands today to find false gods. America is full of them. Whatever you love more than God is your idol.”

If you want to learn more about what idols are most prevalent today check out: The Top 10 Idols Still Worshipped Today

So how do we find idols in our life?

What I want to encourage you to do is to prayerfully evaluate your life and make sure nothing has become more important than God. Ask yourself, what is an idol in my life? Be honest with yourself, don’t try to answer the way you think you should.

Here’s a few questions that I think can help you identify any potential idols in your life:

Where Do I Spend My Time?
Where Do I Spend My Money?
Where Do I Get My Joy?
What’s Always On My Mind?

Actually think about those questions. Answer them honestly. Pray through them. They will lead you to what either is an idol or what you might be tempted to make an idol. Spend some time in prayer asking and seeking what is an idol in your life.

Idol worship today might look different, but it still exists. We shouldn’t let anything, even a good thing, take the place of God in our life. When we look at idolatry in the Bible that’s the main message. Keep God in his rightful place.
