Proverbs 18:1 Commentary

am a grateful person.  I am a person who has common sense.  I will admit that I have battled depression for a total of 28 years now.  I will admit that I have a tendency to isolate from time to time.  This is simply because I do not have anything constructive to do in my life right now.

Further, I am very quiet and peaceful.  I am a person who is highly educated and very intelligent.  I tend to read a lot of books all of the time.  My favorite book is the Holy Bible.  I have been through a lot in my personal life.

Next, I am happy, joyous, and free.  There were times when I thought about giving up from a physical, mental, and emotionally by leaving the state of Ohio and North Carolina for a period of time.  I have left the state for a minimum of three months at a time.

Moreover, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.  Jesus Christ and Jesus alone, I do believe.  I know that I am seeking wise advisors.  I really do appreciate the Nature of God.  I love all of God’s Creation.  I have a profound appreciation for my ability to endure numerous of things.

Finally, I have a tendency to separate myself from other people.  I guess I am a person who gets bored very easily.  My attention span is very long.  I cannot be around people who are drinking alcohol and smoke marijuana and other drugs.  The smell of these drugs make me very sick.  I start vomiting and sweating profusely for hours.

In Conclusion, I have come a very long way in my personal life.  I have a lot of friends right now.  Some of my friends are female scammers and a computer hackers.  Therefore, I do not talk to them anymore.  The only friend that I need is Jesus Christ.  He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.  I am a person who was wise before my time.  I am a person who has wisdom and knowledge that comes from God.  God Bless All of You 🙏🙏🙏

How To Handle Difficult People in God’s Way!!

Good Afternoon and God Bless You!!  I want to inform all of you that I am taking a Biblical Approach when it comes to solving problems.  I know that it is not very easy dealing with people.  I want to inform all of you that God is watching and recording our behavior.

Next, when it comes to dealing with other people, we have to handle it in the same way that God did when it comes to other people.  I remember when I used to be a very difficult person, my actual friends did not want anything to do with me personally.  It is not very easy dealing with people, who behave in a way that is not conducive towards their own personal needs.

Further, I know that I still have a lot of growing up to do.  I know that I have listen to music that is appropriate for God.  I will admit that God is watching all of us from His Kingdom.  I know that I have been hearing things that are not good at first.  I will admit that I have talking while I am sleeping.  I know that both God and Satan talk to all of us at the same time.  Satan tends to mimic God’s behavior.  This is the reason why we have to start praying to God as well as reading His Word that comes from the Bible.  We have to comply with God’s Word.

Moreover, I want to inform all of you that we have to be and act God Fearing all of the time.  I know that God gives us our daily instructions while we are sleeping.  This is according to Job 33:14-16.  This is very serious because when we are sleeping, I know that God is talking to all of us in a way that is conducive towards our needs.

The third reality is that humans are broken and need restoration. Ephesians 4:12 tells church leaders to equip all believers for the work of Christian ministry. The Greek word used for equip [katartismos] had many meanings in the ancient world, but one meaning provides helpful parallels to evangelism. Katartismos was a medical term that emphasized the need to properly set a broken bone. Once healing occurred, the patient was physically restored to live for the purposes for which he or she was created. In a figurative application of katatismos, disciples recall their own spiritual brokenness, woundedness, and their healing, which helps them acquire the necessary empathy of and capacity to care for others. In sum, Box B declares that all people need God’s restoration—starting with non-believers who need redemption. We saints who need continuous rejuvenation portray the complementary side of discipleship.

Finally, I want to say that God is during His Miracles in my life.  I remember when I used to suffer from night terrors because my step father used to abuse me when I was a child.  I know that it is not very easy getting over these types of terrors.  I know that I used to get chased home by other boys inside of my neighborhood when I was a little boy.

I really did not like going to school when I was a child because I used to get chased home all of the time.  In Conclusion, I was very fond of my grandmother’s house.  It was a safe haven from all of the neighborhood negative influences that were available at that time.  I know that I had some good friends and bad ones as well.

I am very glad that I have a friend that I can always call on; whenever my mother and father were not available.  I can call on the Lord Jesus Christ because He is always around whenever I need to talk to Him.  I really love all of God’s Creation.  Some of God’s Creation do not want you bothering them in any way.  Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts because I have to take Metformin 500mg per day for diabetes.  I have to eat something first before I end up taking the medicine.  It can make a person sick if they do not eat anything with it.

I love all of you very much!!  God Bless All of You!!

quote 2.png

Technology has truly advanced. We can now receive text messages from God.

It’s true: just pick up your phone and look at all those verses!

Feeling a little down?

Get a little Pinterest pick-me-up from the Almighty.

No time for Bible study?

Click a little Sprinkle of Jesus with your coffee, and you can tackle the day.

But taking a moment to view the framed scripture on a backdrop of lilies that says we can do all things through Christ doesn’t mean that we have spent time in God’s Word.

What’s worse is when Scripture takes second place to a never-ending string of cheap inspirational quotes: Readjust your crown – you’re a child of the king! The devil wants to steal your happiness – stay positive!

Our culture has turned servanthood to Christ on its head to the point where He’s just another convenience for our lives, complete with catchy jingles: Your best life now! Life’s a gift: enjoy it! God is setting things up to come together just for you!

But, wait! Doesn’t God want to bless and prosper me? Absolutely.

Life is a gift and God wants you to enjoy it because He loves you. He doesn’t want you to live at the whim of other’s opinions.

He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him. God is ever gracious: He protects us, keeps us, forgives us, and brings us peace.

And He’s most definitely bigger than all our problems!

Well, then, what’s the big deal? What’s so wrong with encouraging or motivating people with Scripture, or even with positive clichés?

As C.S. Lewis points out in The Last Battle, the most deceiving lie is one based in truth: “Then she understood the devilish cunning of the enemies’ plan. By mixing a little truth with error, they made their lie far stronger.”

If cute quotes are enough for us – if they keep us from exploring the fullness of God, diminishing His majesty and replacing His Word – then it is very wrong, especially coming from believers in Christ!

Acts 20:28-30 says: “Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.”

quote 1.png

Any twisting of the truth is a lie, a false gospel. Demoting God to a place as the genie who grants our every wish as we recline on a bed of roses is a false gospel that causes several problems:

Doubt – Wait! Life isn’t perfect, and God hasn’t texted me to assure me that everything will be okay! I’m stressing out! Why doesn’t He prosper me and bring it all together the way I think it should be?

Anger – God, where are you when I need you? This is all Your fault. You’re supposed to make my life perfect! How could You let me down?! How could You do this to me?

Ingratitude – God, You said You’d help me fight my battles, but I didn’t even get to Starbucks today, people treated me rudely, and I’ll never be popular. Don’t You know what’s important?

Snobbery/Apathy toward Souls – Lord, I really need You to keep all those toxic people away from me. All I want is for You to bless me and my family and help us to be happy and peaceful and comfortable.

Oblivion – Regardless of whether or not you are caught in the trap of feel-goodness, beware that those beautiful Scripture cards and artsy Bible accessories have not dulled you to this truth: We are at war!

In this amazingly blessed country of comparatively small struggles, where conflicts are resolved in a 30-minute sitcom (or at most, a two-hour movie) we have become insulated against the harsh realities of war.

In any war, propaganda is a successful strategy, and the devil is the father of lies and propaganda.

He can make himself out to be so overwhelming that we cower motionless before him.

But his favorite trick is to convince us that he is no big deal, so that we run to and fro, so consumed with our lives that we see no threat at all.

Remember, the devil knows the Bible. He even quoted Scripture to Jesus, picking verses out of context to try to make Him disobey God’s will and purpose, and he has no qualms about twisting and distorting the most amazing, glorious promises of God in order to draw you away from your purpose in Him.

Scripture reveals the devil as he is: not an annoying little pest who just wants you to worry so you can’t enjoy life, but a gruesome, hate-filled monster who prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Jesus said Satan is the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

He wants to steal from you the core of who you were created to be and the mind that God created for you to think on Him and discover Christ for yourself.

He wants to kill you – physically? Perhaps.

Spiritually, far better for him – dulling the blade, making you ineffective so you go on living without being truly alive.

He wants to destroy you, i.e. (per Webster): put an end to your existence; ruin you emotionally or spiritually; defeat you utterly. (Synonyms: demolish, knock down, annihilate, wipe out, obliterate, wipe off the face of the earth, eliminate, eradicate, liquidate, erase, slaughter, terminate, exterminate, euthanize… you get the idea. A bit more than causing you to miss your morning latte).

God’s Word paints many beautiful images, but as I read through, I also see how God describes Himself: as a Fortress and Strong Tower; a God of Strength who fights for us and provides refuge in time of war.

He knows the ugliness and hardship of war and tells us, “Come, I’ll make you ready for the next fight.”

He calls us to fight for the souls of men, not to be distracted into a life of self-serving comfort.

Leonard Ravenhill said, “The early church was married to poverty, prisons and persecutions.

Today, the church is married to prosperity, personality, and popularity.”

quote 3.png

So, how do we readjust this mindset to combat the complacency of Pinterest Christianity?
Learn the Art of Spiritual War:

1. Know Your God. The more you truly know someone, the harder it is to believe a lie about them.

If you’ve spent solid time with your best friend, you’ve learned how they think and act, and can immediately recognize misrepresentations of their character.

We learn to know Christ through His Word. Soaking in it, marinating in it… not just dipping our toes into an isolated verse on Pinterest.

Digging, mining, pondering, we make it part of us.

We learn what is out of character for Him, and can guard ourselves against lies that the enemy tries to feed to us on every front.

Jesus told us in John 10:27-30, “My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow Me.”

2.  Know Your Enemy. In God’s Word he also gives us a clear picture of our adversary. Take time to really understand. Learn to hate him. Yes, I said hate!

If I ever began a sentence with I hate… my parents would say, “The only things we hate are sin and the devil.”

Recently, as he tried to do away with me physically, I’ve truly come to understand why hating the great deceiver is important.

In the midst of that trial a good friend got in my face and said, “Look, he’s killing you, and trying to tear your family apart. And all you’re doing is feeling sad about it.

“You need to get angry. Hate him. Hate what he’s doing. Then use that anger as fuel to fight back with everything you have.”

Ephesians 6:11-12 says: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

3. Know Your Weaknesses. Hey, we’re all human. We all fall short, this isn’t permission to condemn yourself for all your faults. Only your enemy does that, not your Savior.

But understanding your weak points helps instruct you as to where the enemy will most likely strike on the daily.

The pitfalls we so easily get tripped up on may be where he seeks to drive a wedge in the door.

So be aware of these areas and ask God to make up for those weak points with His strength, as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:10: “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

4. Equip Yourself.

Our God is a good God! Not only does He give us His own armor, He tells us how to put it on!

Don’t leave for battle without it!

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:13-17)

5. Find Your Fight.

The basics are the same, but we each fight differently.

Your personal fight may be about battling particular assaults and situations that hang you up.

Ask God to reveal it to you.

Simply say, “Lord, I’m here to do battle but I don’t know how. Let your Holy Spirit guide my thoughts and words.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says “the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world… they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

I encourage you, brothers and sisters, to combat false gospels wherever you find them – and however innocent they may appear.

Don’t allow them to take you out of the fight.

Don’t let them offer you a false sense of immunity.

As free as we are now, persecution will come (2 Timothy 3:12).

Salvation and relationship with Christ is the ultimate blessing.

That a perfect God would love us enough to die for sinful men defies comprehension.

But He doesn’t stop there:

He invites us to join the battle with Him for the souls of men, constantly arming us with His Word and His blessings.

Let us stand together to reach a world lost in sin, to reach Christians lost in half-truths (lies), and to become a renewed force to be reckoned with against the onslaught of the enemy’s schemes.

As in any war, bad days will come, along with hardships, trials, and pain.

Setbacks will come: some as small grievances and others as true tragedies.

But victory will also come. Christ Himself said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).

Day 5: True soul rest

Published On: September 8, 2023Views: 792.6 min read

“Yes, my soul, finds rest in God; my hope comes from him.” Psalms 62:5

When your soul feels worn out and withered, we are at times tempted to feel defeated. Our natural human impulses aren’t always ones that are given over to optimism or a “glass-half-full” mentality. Even if you are a person that would describe yourself as a person of faith, sometimes, you have to tell yourself to believe what you know to be true about where our refreshments comes from.

There are times when the current news cycle feels as though it is filled with nothing but endless, terrible information. It can feel overwhelming when it seems that we are bombarded by challenges from every side. There is a famous song that says, “prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love.” Our souls may be seeking solace and satisfaction in a myriad of other things. It is then that we must speak to our own soul to tell it the truth. As it says in Psalm 62, the only source of true and sustainable rest is God, alone.

In The Message version of Matthew 11:28-30. It says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

The idea of the “unforced rhythms of grace” brings rest, and is a product of a genuine connection with Jesus. We can spend so much time working, striving, straining, and trying to manufacture a connection with God that we forget that He desires to provide what we need freely. We are continually burdened by what we are attempting to carry in our own strength. He desires that we would learn to live free and light. There is a real opportunity to find real rest in a real Jesus!

When you read Matthew 11:28-30, what speaks to you in this season?

How To Deal With Difficult People?

How Do You Deal with Difficult People?  The very first thing that I should do is pray for them.  I realize that are many types of difficult people.  I know that I can be very difficult to deal with, but I have sense enough to calm down and relax.  I have been dealing with very difficult people for the past 8 years now.  I have been dealing with people, who use vulgarity and smoke marijuana on a daily basis.  These people live inside of my apartment building in Dayton, Ohio.  I know that I used to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol for 18 years; from 1972 to 1990.  I have been clean and sober for 33 years now.  I realize that I have making things difficult for myself.  This is very serious because you are killing your brain cells inside of your body.  It can also decrease your sperm count in men.  It can affect your ovum count in women.  I really did not know this until I got to High School in 1979.  I realize that I was doing things that did not make sense all of the time.  I really love people.  I love animals as well.  I have been earning bad grades in school.  I also did numerous of things that did not make sense.

I only wanted to be accepted by God and Mankind at the same exact time.  I know that I could not make man accept me, but they didn’t anyway.  So, I had to keep to myself and the friends inside of my classes adored me.  I do remember picking up a very large turtle before class.  All of a sudden, I saw someone getting out of a car, and he asked me whether he could cook the turtle?  So, I gave it to him.  I know that I should not have bothered the turtle.  My disposition at that time was very cheerful.  I did all of my homework at the University Computer Center.  I had so much fun that I began to use the World Wide Web from 1991-Present.  I loved the College Life.

Next, I want to inform all of you that I have made a public spectacle out of myself each day by saying things out of my mouth that hurt other people.  I guess, I was making things bad for myself.  I got into a lot of street fights in Dayton, Ohio.  I also got into fist fights in Grand-Rapids, Michigan for a total of 4 months.  I knew that God was watching me throughout that time.  God is recording everything that we are doing to ourselves and other people.  This is very serious because I was a very difficult person by choice.  During that time, I have lost friends and lost female friends as well.  I did not have any business doing things to hurt my family members and friends.  I want to inform all of you that God has changed my overall behavior since 1990.  During that year of 1990, I relocated to Toledo, Ohio.  I got a job and a place to live.  I was working at a plant located on City Park Avenue in Toledo.  During that time, I had traveled to Dayton and Lima Ohio as well.  I guess during that time, I was dealing with lewd women as well.  I had dealt with lewd women from 6/21/1986 until Friday July 2, 2010.  I was only dealing with women who were drug users and abusers.  I wanted to inform all of you that I did not care about myself.  My grandparents and mother were furious with me.

They found out that I was spending money on female prostitutes.  I know that my life could have been better.  I was responsible for holding myself back.  I want to inform all of you that I graduated from college at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.  I earned my Associates Degree on Saturday June 12, 1993.  I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Work on Saturday June 17, 1995.  For 3 years, I lived inside of a Crack House on 126 Rosalind Place off Cherry Street in Toledo, Ohio.

Further, I used to conduct myself like a person who was from the streets of Dayton, Ohio.  I really wanted other people to like me and accept me for who I am as a Child of the Highest God.  I know that I used vulgarity during class in college and high school as well.  I made a lot of mistakes during that time.  I want to inform everyone that I loved women.  I loved myself as well.  It is that I knew that college life was difficult for me.  I had to change my overall behavior in order to get accepted by other people.

Moreover, I want to inform all of you that I asked God for a favor.  I asked God, could He Make Sure that I graduated from college?  God really listened to me.  I did graduate from college and relocated to Charlotte, NC.  I will admit that I was homeless by choice.  I was homeless in Charlotte, NC for 8 straight months.  I moved to Charlotte, NC on Sunday June, 15, 1997.  I lived at the Men’s Uptown Shelter for 8 straight months from June 17, 1997 to February 17, 1998.  I had to deal with a whole lot of personalities that were weigh worse off than me.  I dealt with it until January 5, 2010.  I lived in Charlotte, NC for 12 years.  I know that my past was not pleasant.  I had decided to accept my whereabouts and get strong!!

Finally, I realized that my life was changing for the better.  I attended church on a regular basis.  I prayed to God for a Church Home that would be feasible for me.  Although I live inside of an environment that is not conducive towards my personal needs in Dayton, Ohio.  From January 6, 2010 until right now, I have been living in the Dayton, Ohio Area.  I live in the Northwest Side of Dayton, Ohio near Salem Avenue in Dayton, Ohio.  I have been living inside of my Apartment Complex Called Wentworth Hi Rise Apartments since January 5, 2011.  The neighborhood itself has changed tremendously since 2010.

In Conclusion, I have been going back and forth to the Library in the Dayton, Ohio Area.  I am at the Library at the moment.  I have been clean and sober since Wednesday May 2, 1990 to the Present.  I attend my meetings online because I am not physically able to attend meetings because I have too many physical and mental problems.  I have been chilling out as of late.  I suffer from Diabetes right now.

My doctor prescribed me metformin 500mg per day before breakfast.  I have been taking metformin for over a week right now.  I will officially take metformin with my meals.  I know that having a lot of physical ailments had caused me to slow down completely.  Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts.  God Bless You
